The P08 F1-85 Short Ram Air Intake Kit for the Honda Grom will directly replace the entire OEM air box without any permanent modification. This kit pairs the extremely popular Chimera Intake with a Sprint Filter® P08 F1-85 Conical Air Filter, which combine for even more power. The P08 F1-85 Short Ram Air Intake Kit is positioned to allow more direct, cooler and fresher air into your engine, giving you quicker throttle response and increased performance. The Sprint Filter® and Chimera Intake combination showed a measurable power increase during in-depth dyno testing. In addition to the performance increase the P08 F1-85 filter has now resolved many customer concerns of running an "open" style intake due to inclement weather/conditions. You’ll also notice a deep “tone” from your bike as the intake can now breathe more freely. The Chimera Intake is made in the USA from aluminum and polished for show-quality finish.
Note: When installing the short ram intake, make sure the battery is unplugged. Before plugging the battery back on, make sure the IAT sensor is connected, otherwise, a check engine light would appear if you forget to plug in the IAT sensor. Resetting the ECU is recommended to erase the existing parameter and refresh itself to the new change. Please refer to the service manual for ECU reset.
Installation Tips:
- Install the coupler onto the throttle body first with the hose clamps positioned to where it's easily accessible.
- Transfer the IAT sensor from the OEM airbox to the Chimera Short Ram Intake Tube.
- Install the Chimera intake tube onto the throttle body coupler, check the breather hose length and cut the breather hose to length (leave a little extra length for adjustments if needed).
- Plug in the IAT sensor extension harness.
- Fit the air filter onto the Chimera intake tube.
- Adjust the position to your preference and then tighten everything up.
