BrakeTech Ventilated Caliper Racing Pistons
BrakeTech Ventilated Caliper Racing Pistons are a high-performance braking upgrade designed to replace factory aluminum caliper pistons. Manufactured from proprietary high-grade 300-series stainless steel, these advanced pistons dramatically reduce heat transfer into the hydraulic braking system, helping maintain consistent braking performance under the most demanding riding and racing conditions.
Compared to conventional aluminum pistons, BrakeTech's ventilated design reduces thermal conductivity by up to 94%, significantly reducing the potential for brake fluid boil, lever fade, and inconsistent braking performance. Twelve strategically positioned ventilation ports on the pad side of each piston create an insulating air gap between the brake pad and caliper body, further limiting heat transfer and promoting more effective heat dissipation.
Each piston features a super-finished surface that improves piston retraction and reduces brake drag. The result is improved brake release, enhanced rider control during corner exit, increased top speed potential, and extended brake pad life through reduced friction and unwanted pad-to-rotor contact.
BrakeTech's exclusive Fluid Maximizer™ design incorporates a reverse chamber on the hydraulic side of the piston, increasing fluid volume behind the piston to further retard thermal buildup and improve overall braking consistency during aggressive riding and competition use.
